A mechanical device capable of propelling a loop of rope suspended in mid-air, this installation traces the randomness of every minor variation and imprints ambient sounds by vibrating the rope, altering its shape and momentum. Equipped with a digital vision system, the Rope Launcher recognizes faces and directs the trajectory of the rope toward the people standing before it, in a face-to-face encounter that plays with the idea of taming.
